Hi, I’m Sophie, a professional organiser and declutterer covering Sheffield and South Yorkshire.
Unlike most professional organisers, I would not say I have always been organised! As a child and student, there would often be a pile of my dirty dishes waiting to be done and clothes all over the floor!
This changed after becoming a support worker within the NHS over ten years ago, where I felt I wanted to be on top of my tasks to keep things running smoothly. Through this I began to appreciate how much easier it was to relax when there was a sense of things being in order. This new outlook traversed into my own spaces and habits, and I was able to recognise how much keeping a decluttered and organised home benefited my wellbeing.
Following further training, I worked for the NHS as a clinician for twelve years. Through these roles I have experience of how physical health, mental health and neurodiversity can affect us, and I understand the impact this may have on our ability to keep organised spaces.
I don’t believe that organised spaces have to look perfect with matching containers (if this isn’t what you want), it is about knowing where things belong and creating a system that works for you. However, having creative hobbies, I have an eye for aesthetics and love creating welcoming, calm spaces.
In all of my work I am motivated to help and support people, and will provide a kind, understanding and non-judgemental service.
