🌿 About calm-nest organising
Hi, I’m Sophie, founder of calm-nest organising. I help families and individuals across Sheffield and South Yorkshire create homes that feel calm, functional, and truly theirs.
I wouldn’t say I’ve always been organised! Growing up, my bedroom often featured a pile of dirty dishes and clothes scattered across the floor. But things shifted when I began working as a support worker in the NHS over ten years ago. I wanted to be on top of my tasks to keep things running smoothly, and noticed how much easier it was to relax when there was a sense of things being in order. This new mindset permeated into my home life and habits and I experienced firsthand how decluttering and organising could improve wellbeing.
After further training, I worked as a clinician in the NHS for twelve years, gaining insight into how physical health, mental health, and neurodiversity affect our ability to manage our spaces. I now bring that understanding into every client interaction.
I’ve always enjoyed working with people and find real satisfaction in transforming chaos into calm. Whether it’s a single drawer or an entire home, I offer kind, non-judgmental support tailored to your needs – helping you create a space that feels like a sanctuary.
“Sophie’s calm, non-judgmental presence made it easy to open up about the areas of my home that had been causing me stress for far too long. She brought a gentle structure to the chaos, helping me see possibilities I hadn’t even considered” – Mrs G (Nurse and Mum of 2)
Why choose calm-nest?
I believe everyone deserves a home where they can relax. Our spaces should cater to our needs, and opening a cupboard or drawer shouldn’t fill us with dread! Our homes should support our lives, not cause stress. If your home’s been feeling more chaotic than calm, you’re not alone – and you don’t have to tackle it solo. Here’s what I bring to the table (and the cupboard, and the toy box!)
- A background in healthcare – experience in problem solving and how both physical and mental health, as well as neurodiversity, can impact our lives and homes
- A flexible and collaborative approach – we work together to find what fits for your life
- Emotional intelligence, empathy, and discretion – supporting you with care, whether you’re navigating everyday clutter or something more complex
- Clear, kind communication. No jargon, no judgement
- Practical, hands-on help with decluttering, organising, and creating systems that stick
